Australian Teenager Khye Nasom Manthrope May Have Suffered Seizure Prior to Drowning at Seminyak Villa in Bali
A 16-year-old Australian boy was found dead at the bottom of a swimming pool at Villa Seminyak Estate & Spa on Jalan Nakula Gang Baik-Baik on Thursday, July 4, 2019.
As reported by Beritabali.com, prior to his death, Khy Nasom Manthorpe had just arrived in Bali with his parents’ 30-minutes and a sibling before the fatal incident.
The family decided to have a swim following the long flight from Australia. While other members of the family prepared to take a swim, Khy was first in the pool. A short time later the Father, Andrew John Manthorpe, came to the pool and saw his Son lying motionless on the bottom of the pool.
The shocked Father brought the boy to the surface and began to administer CPR while the boy’s Mother summoned outside help.
When an ambulance arrived at the villa he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The family told the police that the boy had a medical history of seizures leading police to theorze the boy may have drowned after succumbing to a seizure while swimming.
