The bereaved family had received approval for a late check-out at 2:00 p.m. from the villa. The 3-year-old played at the swimming pool while her family packed and prepared to leave the villa.

The villa is located on Jalan Braban, Kerobokan, in North Kuta,

Speaking to 7NEWS in Australia, the grieving child’s parents used the occasion to remind parents always to exercise caution when children have access to a swimming pool and to enroll their children in swimming lessons. “Coco” had recently begun swimming lessons.

Adding: “Janaa’s smile had the power to light up every room, and her love for her parents, family, friends, and her cherished parrot (Coco) was boundless.”

The child’s family also hoped Janaa’s death would serve as a reminder to be careful around swimming pools and urged parents to enroll children in swimming lessons, which Janaa had recently started.

The child is from Campbelltown, New South Wales, Australia.

Police continue to investigate the child’s death.
