Pelita Air Flies Daily Jakarta-Bali

PT Pelita Air Service, the aviation subsidiary of the State Oil Company Pertamina, has commenced daily commercial flights between Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport. 

The daily flight schedule departs Jakarta at 9:20 local time landing in Bali at 12:10 pm. 

The return flight leaves Bali at 2:55 pm local time landing in Jakarta at 3:35 pm Jakarta time.

Jakarta time is one hour behind Bali time. 

The once-daily flight will be operated with Airbus A320-200 aircraft.

Quoted by Kompas.com, the CEO of Pelita Air, Dendy Kurniawan, told the press that, in the past, Pelita has served the charter market, including presidential, cabinet-level air movements, government agency flights, and flights for Indonesia’s gas and oil sectors.

Pelita is now expanding its business activities to include scheduled commercial flights between Jakarta and Bali using Airbus A320-200 aircraft configured to carry 180 seats.

“Certainly, the first flight will be followed by added frequencies to new destinations in Indonesia,” said Kurniawan on Thursday, 28 April 2022. 

Kurniawan said the decision to operate scheduled commercial flights was made possible by the support of members of the national leadership. He specifically expressed his appreciation to the Ministry of Transportation, the Ministry of State-owned Enterprises, and Pertamina as the owner of Pelita Air. 

In conclusion, Kurniawan said: “I invite all related parties to support the advancement of Pelita Air so that Pelita Air can continue to grow to make a significant contribution to the national aviation industry.”

The inaugural Pelita Air flight from Jakarta to Bali on 28 April 2022 was witnessed by the Minister of State-owned Enterprises Erick Thohir, the CEO of Pertamina Nicke Widyawati, and the CEO of PT Pelita Air Service Dendy Kurniawan.
