Pier Eight Bali at InterContinental Bali Sanur Resort celebrates the northern hemisphere’s “blessings of spring” on the threshold of Autumn from 1 – 31 May in a month-long campaign spotlighting the Italian liqueur Campari.
Invented by Gaspare Campari in Italy in 1860, the recipe remains a family secret but is known to contain at least 60 natural ingredients that include herbs, spices, barks, and fruit zests. In 2006, Campari changed the recipe, discontinuing the use of carmine as a colorant.
Now distributed to more than 190 countries worldwide from Gruppo Campari’s headquartered in Milan, Italy, this liqueur cum aperitif forms the basis of a large number of cocktails, including the Negroni , Garibaldi, Americano , and the popular Spritz Veneziano of northeastern Italy where Campari is typically combined with the sparkling wine Prosecco .
Campari is an essential ingredient in the classic Negroni cocktail, the Garibaldi, the Americano (which was named when few Americans were aware of Campari), and the spritz (an aperitif popular in northern Italy).
At Pier Eight Bali at the InterContinental Bali, Sanur Resort creative mixologists will work together during the month-long Campari event.
Three signature Campari Cocktails will headline the month:
Campari Mimosa – Combines a generous serving of Campari, carbonated orange juice, vanilla syrup – all accented with a strip of orange rind.
Campari Paloma – Campari shares center stage with Tequila and is served with grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and vanilla syrup.
“Kusuma” Negroni with Thyme – A traditional cocktail, this version sees Campari Liqueur mixed with thyme-infused gin, sweet vermouth, and the peel of an orange.
These Campari cocktails are available at Pier Eight for Rp. 120,000 net per glass.
Each Friday and Saturday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm during May, the cocktail “hour” will commence with a special show presented by a team of mixologists and followed by live musical entertainment.
Collect stamps on your Pier Eight Passport during the month to receive a complimentary glass of Thyme “Kusuma” Negroni – a bonus once you’ve tasted all three Campari signature cocktails.
