RadarBali.com reports that managing the World Heritage Site of Jatiluwih Rice Terraces in Tabanan Regency has increased the cost of admission tickets tourists pay.
The increased price for admission tickets only applies to foreign visitors, while the admission price for domestic tourists remains unchanged.
I Ketut Purna, the Jatiluwih Heritage Site (DTW) manager, has confirmed the price increase for international visitors, effective 01 April 2024.
Foreign tourists who formerly paid Rp. 40,000 to visit the rice terraces will now be required to pay Rp. 50,000. Foreign children visiting the site must also pay Rp. 40,000, an increase from Rp. 30,000.
The price of domestic tourist admission tickets remains unchanged: Local adults pay Rp. 15,000 and children Rp. 5,000,
Purna defends the ticket price increase at Jatiluwih because ticket prices have stayed the same for the past ten years and the need to generate revenues to support celebrations connected to the World Water Forum (WWF) Summit held in Bali (May 2024).
According to Purna, the additional revenues generated by any ticket price increase will allow improvements in Jatiluwih’s tourism infrastructure. Among the targeted improvements are improved and expanded parking facilities capable of accommodating 270 vehicles.
