RI Invites Direct Flights OZ – Labuan Bajo

Kompas.com reports that the Government is targeting to open direct flights from Australia to Labuan Bajo, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Labuan Bajo, located on the westernmost tip of the Island of Flores – the hub for travelers visiting the Komodo National Park in Eastern Indonesia.

At his weekly press conference on Monday, 02 February 2023, Sandiaga Uno, the Minister of Tourism and the Creative Economy explained that Indonesia continues to pursue measures to increase total tourism visitors nationwide and hopes to open international flights from Australia to Labuan Bajo.

Sandiaga confirmed to the press that he is in communication with several airlines regarding operating direct international flights to Labuan Baju.

Only the Lion Air Group and Garuda Indonesia Group of Airlines fly to Labuan Bajo, Flores.

Giving international tourists direct air access to Labuan Bajo is projected to increase total tourist numbers and visitors to secondary destinations after stopping first in Labuan Bajo. Sandiaga said Indonesia also wants to facilitate direct access from Australia to Lombok and the new Mandalika complex in West Nusa Tenggara, and the Borobudur Temple Complex in Magelang, Central Java.
