RI Official Holidays & Days Off in 2024

The Indonesian national government has set the list of official holidays and “shared holidays” for 2024.

The official holiday list comprises 17 national holidays and an additional 10 days of shared “bonus” holidays – totaling 27 holidays.

The list of official “days off” is recorded and outlined in the Multi-Ministerial Decree Number 855 of 2023 and Number 4 of 2023, which has been jointly signed by the Minister of Religion, Minister of Labor, and the Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform (PMK).

Quoted by Kompas.com, PMK Minister Muhadjir Effendy stated on 14 September 2023: “The re-issuance of this joint ministerial decision is a guideline for government and private agencies in implementing national holidays and collective leave in 2024.”

The Official List of Public Holidays and Collective Shared Holidays

Direct public service positions and work assignments for essential service workers on official holidays and Collective Shared Holidays are left to be determined by their respective place of employment, such as public health centers, hospitals, telecommunication and electrical power providers, public water sources, fire and protective service authorities, banking, and transportation providers.
