S. Korean Dies While Paragliding in Bali

Kompas.com and Balipopuler.com report that a South Korean, Shin Joseob (57), died on Saturday, 02 September 2023, while paragliding on Bulgari Beach at Pecatu, South Kuta, Bali.

According to a written statement issued by the spokesman for the Bali Provincial Police, Police Commissioner Jansen Avitus Panjaitan, the dead body of the South Korean was found on the beach wrapped in a paraglider parachute at 5:20 pm on Saturday.

Kim Myunggwon (45), Kim Habyung (71), and Lim Kum Joo (41) said to be traveling companions of the deceased, are all being questioned by Bali police to obtain a clearer understanding of the circumstances surrounding the death of Shin Joseob, presumed to have been a case of misadventure. 

Shin Joseob reportedly held a PL2 paragliding license with many hours of flight time to his credit. 

The man’s body was evacuated by Search and Rescue Workers and Bali Water Police to the morgue of Professor IGNG Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar.

The four South Koreans were guests at the Bali Relaxing Resort & Spa in Tanjung Benoa, South Bali.
