Sanur Village Festival 16-20 October 2024

The Sanur Village Festival (SVF) returns to Bali with a 2024 edition held on 16 – 20 October 2024 on Pantai Mertasari. The location was selected because of its wide beach area and adjacent large parking lot. It is ideal for plans to present a wide range of culinary and cultural attractions at the festival.

As reported by NusaBali.com, the five-day event will present numerous stands offering local food delicacies in a single location. Organizers claim that the 2024 events will highlight a unique array of “anti-mainstream” delicacies, promising a culinary adventure seldom encountered elsewhere.

The Chairman of the Sanur Development Foundation (YPS), who also serves as the Chairman of the SVF 2024 Committee, Ida Bagus Gede Sidharta Putra, said that this year’s Sanur Village Festival will be officially opened by the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Uno. “The Sanur Village Festival was originally YPS’s effort to revive Sanur tourism after the Bali II bombing. Now fully recovered, Sanur has become a tourism promotion event, promoted locally and internationally,” said Sidharta Putra.

Sanur, as a tourism pioneer area in Denpasar, continues to recover and grow from the difficult times of the recent past. According to Ida Bagus, this event is designed to be even more lively than in previous years, symbolizing the resilience and optimism of the community. It focuses on providing space for small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), creative economy players, artists, and local community members.

“Creativity and innovation are vital in today’s era, so the festival remains attractive to various generational groups. We hope that SVF can continue to operate sustainably by following the audience’s changing tastes from year to year,” he added.

The Sanur Village Festival is also expected to become a driving force for the recovery of the creative economy and tourism in the Sanur area, as well as spurring innovation and creativity among MSMEs supporting the Balinese tourism sector. The festival is now an annual event that both local people and international tourists await.

This year’s festival will also feature a variety of Balinese arts and cultural attractions, providing an immersive experience for all visitors. “We realize that creativity and innovation are the keys to maintaining the sustainability of this festival. Therefore, SVF must be better and more attractive to visitors every successive year,” he concluded.
