One of Bali’s most esteemed tourism leaders, John Ketut Panca, has died at the age of 80.
John Panca’s death was confirmed by his son, Eddy Putra, on Sunday, 01 November 2020, who said John Ketut Panca died after being hospitalized since 16 October at the Bali Mandara Hospital in Sanur.
The founder of Tour East – a major player as a Bali inbound tour operator, John Panca, was also active in supporting sports through his involvement in the National Sports Committee (KONI) in the early years of this millennium. John sponsored the football club – “Preseden” under his company Tour East.
Panca also supported a well-known educational institution in Bali.
The burial of John Panca took place at the Mumbul Cemetery on Monday, 02 November 2020, at 4:00 pm conducted following health protocols dictated by the coronavirus pandemic.
The Chairman of the Bali Chapter of the Indonesian Association of Travel Agents (ASITA-Bali), Ketut Ardana, said Panca, who once served as the head of ASITA, was a pioneer in tour operations in Bali, having headed several tour operators during his career.
