Bali’s “official” reopening to international travelers on 14 October 2021 may be rendered moot and forced to practically delay while the Island awaits the resumption of direct international flights from the five countries nominated by the Government.
When international visitors begin to arrive directly in Bali, current rules require that they undergo a mandatory eight days of quarantine before undergoing a final COVID-19 Swab Test before being allowed to commence a Bali holiday.
As reported by RadarBali.com, international travelers compelled to undergo quarantine will be required to pay the entire cost of their mandatory period at a Bali hotel designated by the Government to provide quarantine services.
Presently, 35 three-star and five-star hotels are certified and ready to accept quarantine passengers. These hotels have undergone training for Cleanliness, Health, Security, and Environmental Sustainability (CHSE) and have been thoroughly inspected before their inclusion on the list of approved quarantine hotels.
Quarantine hotels in Bali can be booked via travel agents or directly with the subject hotel. Proof of an eight-day prepaid booking at one of the quarantine hotels forms one of the requirements before officials will allow visitors to leave the airport for a direct transfer to a quarantine hotel.
When asked by RadarBali.com regarding the cost of a quarantine hotel stay, one general manager in the Bali Regency of Gianyar, who requested his name not be disclosed, confirmed guests could be charged around Rp. 10.6 million for full room and board for an 8-day booking.
Price will vary depending on the hotel selected and the number occupying a single room.
In calculating the price of an 8-day quarantine stay, a hotel must include the cost of accommodation, all meals, PCR Swab Tests, and laundry.
