The Ubud Readers and Writers Festival’s (URWF) founder Janet DeNeefe and Chef Chris Salans will host a unique “Poets in the Garden” night of poetry, music, and fine dining Thursday, 14 October 2021.
The theme for the evening will be “Self-Reflection” – a concept taken from the URWF Theme for 2021 of “Mulat Saria.“
The Neverending Poetry Krew comprised of Bagus Ari Saputra, Christy Mawar, Kismet, Imam Barket, and Tara will perform for the evening that gets underway at 6:00 pm. Rendy Rizk will provide further entertainment on contrabass and Tio on violin.
The evening will unfold across five acts, each representing a different nature-inspired theme – Smoke, Gratitude, Ocean, Forest, and Lava. Each of these thematic acts will be paired with five courses of delicious food prepared by Chris Salans and his award-winning culinary team, poetry presented in English and Indonesian, and live music from a group of talented musicians.
Dishes featured during the evening will be:
- Minute-smoked dry-aged snapper in a passionfruit and lemon basil dressing
- Slow-cooked watermelon with fermented tomato vinaigrette and crispy garlic
- Butter-poached lobster tail with clams, white wine, and sea beans
- Roasted Squab with wild mushroom and fresh green peppercorns
- Merapi volcano chocolate lava cake with clove flowers and Bandung pineapple.

Dinner will start at 6:00 pm sharp and will last approximately 2 hours. The price for the evening for food only is Rp. 950,000 net per person.
To further enhance the experience, a special pairing of premium wines, carefully selected for each course by Mozaic’s Director of Wines, Cok Bagus Senajaya, will be available for an additional cost or Rp. 500,000 net per person.
Dinner will be served in the Mozaic Garden or open pavilion.
