One of Asia’s leading travel publications DestinAsian Magazine, has announced its 2024 version of its Readers’ Choice Awards in the March-May edition.
This year’s list of Asia’s best across a range of travel categories is DestinAsian Magazine’s 17th year compiling a list of award winners for the best element of the luxury travel industry in the Asia-Pacific region.
The Readers’ Choice Poll was conducted between August and November 2023. DestinAsian readers chose winners from a shortlist nominated by the magazine’s editors across 36 categories, including hotels and resorts, serviced residences, airlines, airports, cruise lines, and destinations.
DestinAsian publisher Ronald Liem commented on the latest edition of the Readers’ Choice Awards: “This edition of the RCA is bigger than ever in its scope, and we’re honored to provide travelers with a platform to reflect on and share their experiences around Asia Pacific. As the poll continues to evolve and grow in step with the times, we’ve made some adjustments to better reflect the astounding diversity of the luxury hospitality scene in our home region.”
The award program has been expanded for selected countries (Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam) and has now been expanded in two separate rankings to include city hotels and resorts. The program now includes categories for Boutique Hotels, classified as properties with less than 100 rooms.
In its 17th year, the DestinAsian Readers’ Choice Awards is the longest-standing and most trusted recognition of excellence programs in the Asia-Pacific travel industry.
DestinAsian readers nominated companies across categories, including hotels and resorts, serviced residences, airlines, airports, cruise lines, and destinations.
Indonesia and Bali ranked very high and often in the latest Readers’ Choice Awards,
BEST ISLAND IN ASIA: Bali was ranked the best Island in Asia, with Lombok selected at 10th place.

BEST AIRPORT: In naming Asia’s best airport, Singapore’s Changi Airport was ranked “the best” with Bali coming in a very reputable fourth place.
BEST AIRLINE: Singapore Airlines was chosen as the best airline in the survey, with Indonesia’s Garuda Indonesia named the 6th best.
BEST LOW-COST AIRLINE: AIR ASIA was voted the best airline, with Indonesia CITILINK ranked #3 and BATIK AIR at #5.
BEST INDONESIA RESORTS: Bali swept all the top ten positions for the “best ten” resorts in Indonesia in the DestinAsian Magazine survey:
