RadarBali confirms that dating from the reopening of domestic tourism in Bali on 31 July 2020, an encouraging gradual increase in arriving passengers at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport continues to take place.
The general manager of the airport managing company, PT Angkasa Pura I (PAP-I), Rahmat Adil Indrawan, described the slowly increasing flow of domestic passengers, saying: “Since 14 August 2020, The Ngurah Rai Airport has experienced a reasonable increase in passengers. More or less, 1,000 to 1,500 passengers (arrived) each day. Coincidentally, there was a long holiday weekend on 17 August.”
A Series of Long Weekend Holidays
During the Idul Adha Holidays of 31 July until 02 August 2020, a total of 6,394 domestic passengers arriving at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport or an average of 2,131 passengers arriving each day of the 3-day weekend holiday.
On the Indonesian Independence Day Holiday weekend 14 until 17 August 2020, a total of 11,181 domestic passengers arrived in Bali on domestic flights. In other words, 3,727 passengers passed through the Domestic Terminal at Bali’s Airport on an average daily basis.
There was a 75% increase in passenger numbers on the second holiday period equivalent to an additional 1,596 passengers more each day of the long-weekend holiday period.
