Taman Safari Indonesia now welcomes guests to Marine Safari Bali, a world-class marine tourist attraction. Strategically located in Gianyar, Bali, adjacent to Taman Safari Bali, and just north of Bali’s capital, Denpasar. This dual-attraction destination solidifies Taman Safari’s reputation as a premier recreation park and leading conservation institution.
The new Marine Safari Bali offers visitors a journey originating in the freshwater ecosystems of the rainforest, leading through the lakes, rivers, estuaries, and coastal areas and concluding in the depths of the ocean. Combining Bali’s natural allure, unique wildlife, and spectacular marine adventures, Marine Safari Bali provides a memorable interactive experience, including opportunities to explore and interact with aquatic life, such as sharks and sting rays.
The Park’s Educational programs aim to raise awareness of the importance of marine life conservation while highlighting breeding programs via a structured initiative that supports the reproduction of species, particularly endangered or vulnerable ones.
Breeding programs in controlled environments such as Marine Safari Bali eventually reintroduce marine and animal life to their natural habitats to sustain and grow populations as the cornerstone to preserving marine diversity.
As part of Taman Safari Indonesia’s commitment to conservation, Marine Safari Bali features a dedicated Marine Conservation Area. This state-of-the-art facility ensures that the highest standard of care is maintained for its inhabitants. Taman Safari Indonesia is a leading marine conservation center in Southeast Asia.
“Marine Safari Bali is Indonesia’s first and only marine park offering a comprehensive marine experience,” said Laetitia Delvart, general manager of Taman Safari Bali. “Here, visitors can engage with diverse sea life, including stingrays, dolphins, and sharks. This destination combines recreation and conservation, providing an up-close look at marine life. It’s the perfect choice for families, nature lovers, and anyone seeking to explore the ocean’s wonders.”
Prior booking allows visitors to participate in “Behind the Scenes” tours, enabling an exclusive look into the park’s operations and conservation efforts. These tours are designed to educate the public on marine life preservation and the importance of sustainable practices.
Varuna – A Mesmerizing Theatrical Experience
Varuna – Indonesia’s first underwater dining theatre experience is a standout attraction at Marine Safari Bali. Innovative in the extreme, Varuna combines world-class theatrical performance with fine dining while delivering a powerful message about marine conservation. The show is presented on a state-of-the-art technical marvel – a stage with rotating platforms, elevating ramps, sophisticated lighting, and superb sound amplification. Talented dancers and mesmerizing puppetry displays perform in front of a 1,100 cubic meter aquarium, populated by many aquatic creatures, including free-roaming sharks. Mermaid actors swim majestically among inquisitive and enchanting sea creatures during theatrical presentations.
This theatrical performance highlights the deleterious impact of plastic waste in our oceans, inspiring audiences to take action to protect marine ecosystems.
Opened on 20 December 2023, Varuna, in a purpose-built dinner-theatre configuration, offers a harmonious, seamless connection between art, fine dining, and marine conservation awareness.
As part of the Taman Safari Bali Family, Marine Safari Bali is committed to upholding the group’s high standards and continuing its contributions to wildlife conservation. The new marine park will feature interactive exhibits, educational programs, and sustainable practices to ensure a positive impact on both visitors and the environment.
