After being absent from Bali for two years, Singapore Airlines returned to Bali with SQ 938 landing at 12:06 pm on Wednesday, 16 February 2022, with 156 passengers on board, comprised of 109 foreign travelers and 47 Indonesians traveling on an airplane capable of carrying 337 commercial passengers.
The same Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner flew back to Singapore, as SQ 939 leaving Bali 30 minutes behind schedule at 1:31 pm landing at Singapore’s Changi Airport at 3:45 pm. The northbound homecoming flight carried 60 passengers to Singapore.
The Singapore Airlines flight received a ceremonial welcome in Bali as Airport Fire Trucks bordered the taxiway tarmac forming an archway of a double water cannon salute.
Thursday’s flight was the first daily flight service between Singapore and Bali.
Two years ago, before the global pandemic, SIA operated five flights each day to Bali.
