Timor-Leste’s only international airline Aero Dili commenced service connecting Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport and Dili’s Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport on Friday, 12 May 2023.
The General Manager of Bali’s Airport, Handy Heryudhitiawan, was on hand to welcome the Airbus-A320 aircraft with the flight designation 8G-18 that landed at 9:55 am pm on Friday. The inaugural flight carried 62 passengers to Bali.
The return flight to Dili departed at 10:35 am with 36 passengers on board.
The Denpasar-Dili air corridor is now served by three airlines: Aero Dili (daily), Citilink (thrice weekly), and Batik Air (once weekly). Bali is directly connected to the world by 29 international air routes flown by 36 airlines.
Through the end of April, 6,065,123 air passengers landed at Bali’s sole air gateway. Broken down, this comprises 3,231,095 international travelers and 2,834,024 domestic passengers.
