An Indian tourist has died after falling from a cliff face at Angel Billabong, in the village of Bungamekar at Nusa Penida Island.
As reported by RadarBali.id, Nilesh Muhki (59) died on Wednesday, 16 October 2024, at 10:45 am. The man’s body was recovered on Thursday, 17 October 2024, at noon, 10 kilometers away from where he was last seen.
Nilesh Muhki was a Kolkata, India, travel agent on holiday in Bali with his wife, Kavita, at the time of the incident.
Press reports say the Mukhi’s were posing close to the cliff’s edge when they were hit by a large wave that swept the Indian man into the sea,
His body was recovered by searches some 20 kilometers from the point where he fell into the seas.
A spokesperson for the Klungkung Police Precinct, Agus Widiono, related how police and rescue workers combed the shoreline in search of the missing Indian. The search was joined and coordinated with the man’s family and a representative from the Indian Consulate in Bali, Lawlesh Kumar.
Police say the man’s lifeless, floating body was found at sea at around noon and was removed to the Tanjung Benoa Pier for transport to the morgue of Denpasar’s Ngurah General Hospital.
