Hello, Hello Bandung! Downtown Bandung to Bali Flights to Resume 14 August 2026

RadarBali and Kompas report that direct flights reconnecting the Metropolitan City-Center Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung will commence to Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport starting 14 August 2026.

The service, using narrow-body aircraft to comply with the technical limitations of Bandung Airport, will be operated by Citilink.

The resumption of jet operations follows Husein Sastranegara Airport’s certified compliance with all technical standards and aviation regulations. These requirements encompass safety, security, and service quality standards for both the airline and the airport.

Badung to Bali flights from the City-Center Husein Sastranegara Airport ended with the opening of the new Kertajati International Airport, situated in Majalengka Regency, approximately 68 kilometers northeast of Bandung city center. The second-largest airport in Indonesia in terms of land area and one of the Nation’s most modern air gateways was intended to become the airport of Bandung has, in fact, proven very unpopular with the traveling public due to its remote location, distance from the City of Bandung, and the easy option of using the new high-speed train connecting Bandung and Jakarta in just 50 minutes.

The resumption of the Bandung City-center flight to Bali has been officially authorized in a letter from the Director General of Civil Aviation No. AU.101/17/4/DRJU.DBU-2026 regarding Jet Aircraft Operations at Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung.

Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi, President Director of InJourney Airports, stated that the return of jet flights to the heart of Bandung offers a more flexible and comfortable transportation option for both the public and tourists.

”Optimizing flights at Husein Sastranegara Airport will facilitate travel and welcome tourists with top-tier facilities and services, featuring a modern ambiance blended with West Javanese culture,” he said.
