As reported by KOMPAS, TransNusa Airlines has added two new domestic flights from Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport to East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and Southeast Sulawesi.
The two new routes are Bali-Waingapu in East Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and Bali-Wakatobi Matahora in Southeast Sulawesi.
Bali’s Ngurah Rai International Airport currently serves a total of 22 domestic flights.
The General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali, Nugroho Jati, says the two new TransNusa Airlines routes will strengthen flight connectivity from Bali to several tourist and economic destinations in Indonesia.

”We congratulate TransNusa on the opening of flights for the Waingapu and Wakatobi routes. These two routes add to the other routes previously operated by TransNusa from and to Bali,” said Nugroho on Thursday, 16 July 2026.
Bali – Waingapu Route
The inaugural flight of the Bali-Waingapu route took place on Wednesday, 15 July 2026. A Comac ARJ-21 Aircraft with flight designation number 8B-5652 took off from Bali at 08.19 am local time, carrying 88 passengers. Meanwhile, the return flight from Waingapu to Bali, flight number 8B-5653, landed at 12.24 pm, carrying 94 passengers.
The Bali-Waingapu round trip will operate four times a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.
Bali-Wakatobi Route
TransNusa Airlines has also launched its inaugural flight on the Bali-Wakatobi Matahora route. Flight 8B-5662 departed from Bali at 08:10 am local time carrying 90 passengers. The return flight from Wakatobi, flight number 8B-5663, arrived in Bali at 13:32 pm, carrying 70 passengers.
The Bali-Wakatobi Matahora route operates three times a week on Monday, Thursday, and Sunday.
”These two new routes further strengthen the position of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport as a strategic air transportation hub, as well as opening easier connectivity access for domestic and international tourists to various destinations in Indonesia,” said Nugrogo.
