Air Arrivals Surge Over Easter Holidays

Balipost.com reports a substantial boost in Bali visitors over the long holiday weekend of Easter 2021.

Higher rates of air arrivals, numbering several thousand, commenced starting from Wednesday, 31 March 2021. The Airport Managers at PT Angkasa Pura I, on Wednesday, 31 March 2021, recorded 8,875 arriving passengers traveling on 63 flights.

Also, on Wednesday, 5,151 domestic passengers using 54 flights departed from Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport.

As reported by the Stakeholder Relations Manager for the Airport, Taufan Yudhistira, Thursday, 01 April 2021, domestic air arrivals to Bali totaled 8,875.

Starting on 01 April 2021, the arrival requirement for people coming to Bali was eased. On that date, domestic travelers need only show a negative PCR Swab Test or a negative antigen rapid test performed within 2 x 24 hours of their departure for Bali or a GeNose C19 test done before boarding their flight.

Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport is gradually introducing GeNose C19 tests starting in the second week of April.

GeNose C19 tests are being performed on a trial basis before full-on use of the new system that analyzes breaths captured in plastic bags to be examined by a GeNose C19 terminal. The 8-14 GeNose C19 terminals will eventually perform 500-600 tests each day, but only 15- tests per day during the initial trial period.
