Update: Rate of COVID Infections in Bali

The latest update in new cases of COVID-19 and deaths through 01 August 2021 still give little reason to rejoice that the more than month-long surge in new coronavirus cases in Bali is showing signs of leveling –off or declining.

The accompanying graphs have yet to demonstrate that the intensive inoculation program and the restrictions on public activities now underway in Bali have hit the “pivot point” that will send the number of new cases and deaths in a southerly trend.

Starting from 12 July 2021, the number of daily cases recorded in Bali’s capital city of Denpasar (DPS) and the southern regency of Badung is also shown.

The Government has extended the latest PPKM-Level 4 warning for Bali until 09 August. Meanwhile, a growing number of tourism leaders in Bali are calling on the President to gradually re-open tourism on the Island starting from 17 August – Indonesian Independence day, come what may.
