Batik Connects Indonesia with Sri Lanka

Batik Air – the full-service subsidiary of The Lion Air Group – continues its rapid expansion in international routes by opening new flights to Malaysia and Sri Lanka on Friday, 12 May 2023.

Quoted in Kompas.com, Danang Mandala Prihantoro, stated on 01 May 2023: “Batik Air will connect Indonesia to Sri Lanka from 12 May 2023 flying seven times a week.”

Prihantoro said the new routes to will connect Sri Lanka with six major air hubs in Indonesia. The new routes will transit via Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From Kuala Lumpur, the onward flights to Colombo, Sri Lanka, will be operated by Batik Air Malaysia.

The six Indonesian air hubs providing connections to Sri Lanka are:

  • Medan – Kualanamu International Airport
  • Jakarta – Soekarno-Hatta International Airport
  • Yogyakarta – Kulon Progo International Airport
  • Surabaya – Juanda International Airport
  • Denpasar – I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport
  • Makassar – Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport

Batik Air will operate Boeing 737 aircraft on its new connective routes to Sri Lanka.
